Family Counsleing Center of Augusta, Georgia is a private not-for-profit counseling agency whose mission is dedicated to providing counseling and therapy services to strengthen families in the CSRA and greater Augusta, GA area. Family Counseling Center offers individual counseling, family counseling, and couples or marital counseling for a variety of issues including: depression, anxiety, domestic violence, anger management, divorce and separation, parent-child conflict, grief/loss, ADHD, ODD, physical and sexual abuse and PTSD. We use a variety of techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, insight-oriented and systems approach, play therapy, and EFT, just to name a few. FCC also provides EAP counseling and is presently accepting new contracts. We accept a variety of insurance carriers as well.
Our PICE program, Professional In-home counseling to the Elderly, is the only one of its kind in the southeast. A master’s level social worker travels to the home of homebound senior citizens and provides them with counseling and case management services. Most problem areas include: grief/loss issues of previous physical functioning, depression, adjustment to major life changes, and family issues.
Lastly, FCC, licensed in 1982, is the only licensed adoption agency based in Augusta, Geogia. Our social workers are experienced at preparing adoption home studies (homestudy) with domestic, interstate, intrastate, and international adoption. We are especially experienced in home study reports for families adopting children from China, Guatemala, Liberia and Russia. We are an excellent resource for information on: adoption resources, adoption counseling, international adoption, support for adoptive families, attachment and bonding, and international adoption in the Augusta, Georgia area. In addition, FCC conducts post-placement visits and court reports.
All counselors are licensed to practice by the State of Georgia. We are located in downtown Augusta, Georgia and have an office coming soon to West Augusta, Georgia.

Special thanks to the Knox Foundation who made a generous donation in loving memory of Dr. Mary Louise Carpenter. We have great appreciation for Dr. Carpenter for her wholehearted support of the mission of Family Counseling Center to strengthen families in the Augusta area. Her commitment, enthusiasm and compassionate spirit are dearly missed.
